ARTIST STATEMENT
“Li begins with lo-fi or ordinary materials and often simple processes. From these unassuming starting points, he creates moving images which elicit wonder and humour alike. His process is to create animations, installations and performances which baffle or dazzle the eye, whilst exposing the means of their creation. Each work is like a magic trick which we are wholly taken in by, whilst knowing full well what the mechanisms of their illusions are.”
