Nicola’s practice integrates live performance, visual art and contemporary music composition through process-led physical and intellectual enquiry.
Performance based research questions our understanding of the ways in which we interact with, create and are affected by sound. Disciplines include durational and body-based performance, site-specific work, sound design, live installation and social sculpture.
As artist/curator, Nicola’s approach focuses on moments of integration between the curatorial and creative processes, with an objective to producing moments of artistic questioning which return the subject to a position of enquiry. Cross art form methodology and collaboration underpin her discursive methodology to performance, curation and arts education.
Nicola’s diverse practice aims to establish a conceptually-based creative way of working which combines the personal, creative and intellectual in a socially intensive atmosphere, to foster new ideas for how to live, work and show art.
