ALL DAY

12 – 6pm : Last day of Moving on up, Moving on out exhibition

7-8.30pm : The Occassion Collective

8.30 – LATE : Leavers Disco!

UP and OUT is the last ever day of programming from our current building and project space before we move on to pastures new. With new works, exhibitions, and two events in the evening, a performance event with The Occassion Collective, and a Leavers Disco!

Come see the final day of the exhibition in the Project Space and the Bookshop. This will be a  last chance to see work by over 80 artists and chat with our members in the space about the future.

The studio plan in the Bookshop has been evolving throughout the month, with studio members creating a web of connections and collaborations.

A new collective piece of work by The NewBridge Project studio members will be evolving throughout the last week of Moving on up, Moving on out. This will be completed on Saturday, with the windows on the East side of the building being occupied by our final message before leaving the building.

Biographies

Cooking With Three are a collaborative mixed-media improv ensemble based in Newcastle. The group consists of three core members: Jamie Cook (Sound), Lizzie Klotz (Dance), Adam Goodwin (Visuals). Musicians, sound artists and dancers from different backgrounds are invited to perform, whilst Adam Goodwin projects live visuals across the ensemble. They work from a loose theme of live sampling/re-sampling: The visuals are layered, VJed and data-moshed clips of previous performances and rehearsals among other source materials. Jamie captures audio live from the other musicians, vinyl and foley, and re-organises this via laptop into rhythmic and melodic patterns. The dancers respond to the visuals and sound whilst creating spontaneous phrases of motion, which in-turn influence the sound and image performers’ actions. We aim to create a kind of symbiotic relationship between mediums in order to generate dynamic yet balanced performances completely unique to each show and its audience.

Rosa Postlethwaite is a performance artist and dramaturg based in Newcastle upon Tyne. She is interested in how narratives make sense of our reality, shape it and discipline it in different ways. Her work is personal, playful and critical and takes on complex and emotive histories.
