Lloyd & Wilson

  • trajectory of the everyday, Artist House 45, Leeds, 2015

Working together since 2012 artists Toby Lloyd and Andrew Wilson build environments that encourage others to communicate and collaborate with one-another to open-up shared and conflicting experiences of everyday life.

These installations act as a platform to create work using a circular and reflective methodology of a) invitation, b) encounter and c) presentation. Each phase acts as a process to instigate the next where the artists and the presented artwork can be adapted to the specifics of the situation.

The social dynamic of the ‘Public House’, where once a man has bought or been bought this glass of beer, he has entered an environment where he is a participant rather than a spectator, has been a regular theme within their practice and often includes them brewing their own beer.
