Stacey Davidson

Artist Statement:

My current area of research is motivated by an investigation into painting and print, constantly questioning my personal decisions and motives. I evaluate the classification of painting and what is required to construct an image. Exploring this within my studio practice, I challenge many of these questions through the formal elements of composition, materiality and texture. These elements provide a context within the abstract nature of the work; which often re-examine online and printed surfaces and the dislocation of meaning through the narrative of personal online streams such as social media posts.
