We are open every Saturday until the end of March.

How to get here

Walking/Cycling

Where possible we encourage people to walk or cycle to our venue. The Shieldfield Centre is a 15-20 minute walk from Newcastle Town Centre.

We have bike racks in the underground car park, please ask a member of staff if you need to store your bike here whilst you visit.

Driving

If you have travelled by car, we have 8 car parking spaces situated to the front of the Shieldfield Centre adjacent to Stoddart Street. These are the 8 spaces in front of The NewBridge Project space entrance, you cannot park in any of the spaces after the white line as these are for the Thornfield Medical Centre.

There is also other parking located in the Shieldfield area.

Please note, all cars and bikes are left at owners own risk.

Public Transport

BUS

The Shieldfield Centre is well connected to Newcastle and Gateshead and the surrounding area via bus, all within close walking distance.

  • A bus stop with routes for the number 1, 32 and 32A is located 160yd (2 minutes) away on Portland Road.
  • A bus stop with routes for the number 6, 32 and 32A is located 0.2m (5 minutes) away on Shield Street.
  • Several bus stops with routes for 62, 63, 1A, 1B, 12, 22, 39, 40, 91 are located 0.3m (6 minutes) away on New Bridge Street.

METRO

The closest metro stations are Manors (8 minute walk) and Jesmond (11 minute walk), so you can get to the Shieldfield Centre via both yellow and green metro routes.
