Artist Development

Practice Makes Practice is our continuous artist development programme run by artists for artists. It focuses on developing artistic talent and giving people the necessary skills to manage and develop their practice and career. It is open to all through our NewBridge Associate Membership, or you can attend a one off event. It is open to artists, curators and anybody else interested in the arts.

The Collective Studio is a year-long, annual development programme for early-career artists and/or recent graduate artists and creative practitioners. It provides affordable studios and workspace, and a programme of training, events, mentoring, socials and opportunities to exhibit work, which will suit a diverse range of practices and are tailored around each cohort. The Collective Studio usually opens for applicants in May / June.

Create/Disrupt is our free artist development programme for aspiring arts workers, producers and artists who have not been to university and are interested in pursuing a career in the arts. We are establishing a community that will open up access to whatever you tell us you need. Whether that is artist mentoring, networking opportunities, developing facilitation skills or something entirely different.

Formed in response to a need for mutual support, the Kaleidoscope Network has come together as a way to share resources, increase what each partner is able to offer and create new connections between communities of artists. It also offers professional development for the associated partners learning from one another. The Kaleidoscope Network is a collaboration between Eastside Projects (Birmingham), Primary (Nottingham), Spike Island (Bristol) and The NewBridge Project (Newcastle)
