My practice as artist is inspired by shape and colour in nature. I work using traditional materials on paper as well as digitally, creating art and collaborating with academic, publishing and commercial clients in visual communication projects.
The NewBridge Project Gallery is closed throughout March. NewBridge Books will be open as usual.

I am a visual artist based in rural Northumberland. My practice is inspired by the natural world; I love shape and colour and seek to express this in my image-making. I work with traditional materials on paper as well as digitally, collaborating with academic, publishing and commercial clients in visual communication projects.
Trained in botanical illustration (Diploma in Botanical Illustration from Royal Botanical Garden Edinburgh) and zoology (BSc and PhD from Leeds University), my commercial work is figurative, highly detailed and technical. My personal projects take me out of my comfort zone of realism to explore abstraction of context and detail, letting the shapes and colours stand alone.
