Anna Mud is a cross-disciplinary artist, researcher and facilitator based in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
She graduated in 2024 with a BA in Fine Art from Newcastle University. Her work explores themes of materiality, ecology, architecture and urban regeneration. Anna has created public commissions for Newcastle University, Newcastle City Council, Globe Gallery and The Helix Development Project. Anna has also participated in and co-curated group shows at the Truman Brewery, Newcastle Contemporary Art and Shieldfield Art Works. Her 2024 degree show ‘Moral Fibre’ was featured in The White Pube’s article, Unreal Estates. After graduating, she co-founded Blue Chalk Collective, a female led collective focusing on community engagement projects.
Anna’s practice is rooted in research into site-specific materials, uncovering hidden or overlooked features of a place. Drawing on Feminist theory, she employs a multidisciplinary approach that integrates drawing, sound, text, and sculpture to explore and reveal points of tension.
