Christian Mieves is a painter and cultural theorist based in Newcastle. His artistic and theoretical work has focused on questioning the nature of visibility and exploring some of the ways in which images become susceptible to erosion, using strategies of visual disruption to critique established theories of representation. His paintings have been exhibited internationally.

We are grateful to our funders, including Arts Council England, Newcastle City Council, Garfield Weston Foundation, Jerwood Foundation, Community Foundation North East, Newcastle University and the The North East Mayoral Strategic Authority.
