Eve Walker

Eve is a Yorkshire born Dance Artist now living and working in Newcastle Upon Tyne after completing her Undergraduate Dance Degree at Dance City Training Academy and her MA in Dance Performance at the London Contemporary Dance School. Through the medium of movement, Eve’s research focuses on the body as archive and somatic capabilities resulting in her debut choreographic work ‘For Steve’; an improvised performance between dancers and musicians exploring themes of touch, contact and longing.

Eve’s practice and values are solidly centred around care and kindness, in the aim of creating optimum conditions in dance for performance, dance making, dance education and community activity. Through working with care as a priority, this allows for shifting and adapting to take place throughout practice creating access and space. Working with care and access in mind feels ongoing and is something Eve strives towards in her everyday practice in collaboration with other artists and towards herself. Eve aims to deliver with care and kindness to those she teaches, collaborates with, converses with, and works with, but mostly, aims to work with herself as an artist kindly too.
