Artist based in UK, using print, textile and waste materials to create installation work which advocates feminist group work and ecological ways of working. I work collaboratively often with other makers and socially, having a workshop programme parallel to my work.
I teach part time and work with young people on short term projects- I believe that as an artist, I should apply my own working methods to my teaching- which means my classes learn how to work together on a group project as well as independently. I work in a Quaker school because of their political alliance with anti-war work and I wholeheartedly apply their democraticness and perhaps, cheesy phrases like ‘live adventurously!’.
I have been involved in DIY events/organising for 10 years, setting up a community print room and gig/event space and cofounding projects like The Postal Project, hashtagdreamphone and York Zine Fest.
