Jenni Mac is a visual artist, poet and musician with particularly shapely thumbs.
Interior landscapes and “living objects” feature across her works, skewing proportion and sentiment with recurring objects and palettes. Slipping between romantic and ridiculous, there is a narrative across mediums in Mac’s work that is comic and concentrated, often playing with character, and pointing a finger at her passion for old time music and aesthetic.
Mac usually works in paint, pastel and pencil on wood or cardboard, and can often be found out on the level 3 balcony musing on words and tunes between layers of paint.
They run Café Charcoal, an experimental life drawing session; are 1/2 of queer coding project Hip Reading, and later this year will (eventually) put out the record they’ve been whittling away at for the last two years.
