Katie’s practice centres on sound installation, and extends to video, performance, drawing and sculpture. She is interested in systems of self-generating, self-sustaining content that begin and end without a linear sense of resolution, building a mobius strip of ideas through the circular way in which the work originates, develops and exists. Katie sees sound as a versatile sculptural medium to work with and install. Not only does it affect us psychologically with the ability to shift our mood, we react to the physicality of the material. She thinks spatially about how the sound will fill and respond to a site for install, and how the audience are affected by this.
