Kevin makes video work and comics that investigate glamour and gender as performative commodities. Generally, he raises questions that hinge on an individual’s agency within social and aesthetic frameworks: what can one can gain and what is at stake by conforming to, and conversely flouting aesthetic norms? Kevin’s moving images and comic narratives appropriate these glamorous “norms” in non-conventional contexts, with the ultimate goal of decoupling aesthetic choices and gender expression from their supposed place in any established hierarchy.
