Mary-Clare is a process-led choreographer with an interest in interdisciplinary approaches to making. Current preoccupations are:the physical-self’s engagement with urban and rural landscapes, spaces and structures. Embodiment in process, making and living.
Mary-Clare’s choreographic work has been performed internationally in theatres, galleries and site-specific locations. It has included collaborations with filmmakers, visual artists and theatre directors. She was a performer with Gaby Agis & Company (UK), Luis Tentindo (NYC), and collaborated and performed extensively with Janet Aisawa (NYC). Teaching is a major part of her practice and her specialisms are improvisation, choreography, creative practice site-specific and studio based.
She has taught widely in artistic communities in the UK, Europe and USA and this has extended to periods teaching in universities and colleges.
