Pauline’s practice is inspired by personal experiences and survival, using a mixed media approach to represent the unconscious, repetitive, debilitating thoughts and behaviours processed throughout life. She aims to create a narrative without answers, encouraging the audience to develop their own responses, hopefully triggering questions and possibly addressing personal thoughts, experiences and behaviours. The incorporation of text is twofold, operating as a personal trigger but also to reflect the manipulation of the entertainment industry, where boundaries of abuse have become blurred. Pauline aims to shine a light on manipulative practices embedded within society, to question their authority in controlling people and to break the cycle.
