Jackson has been producing unique art curios through the medium of figurative ceramics since 2006. Each of these ceramic re-imaginings are colonised by intervention. Through various processes the artist translates the original into his own distinct visual language. As well as prompting debate about authorship and originality, these humorous subversions also reveal Jackson’s interests in narratives, histories, collections and the constructs that bind these devices. The ongoing series of ceramic explorations are called ‘Disfigurines’, affectionately referred to as the Dysfunktional Ceramix Family. Additionally Jackson continues to make work in various mediums.
