Rachael Kidd

An interest in illusion and delusion – in the sense of creating a false impression – runs throughout much of my work. I try to emulate the accidental and deliberate boundaries set by nature and mankind. Through site-specific intervention in the landscape; the replication of found objects; the re-organisation of naturally occurring formations; and more traditional pieces that make up my visual practice, I explore our relationship with the landscape and our limited capacity for experiencing it.

Born in Warwickshire 1991
Studied Fine Art at Newcastle University (BA honours degree) 2009 – 2013
Since graduating Rachael has continued to make work and exhibit it as part of a creative initiative called ‘The Wild Project’ which started off as a residency in the Czech Republic over the Summer 2013.
