Samuel Kennedy

Sam explores how non-musical concepts can be explored musically, and how these ideas can dictate composition. He takes influence from a broad range of stimuli, such as transhumanism; asking what chord progressions an artificial intelligence might use, or what it would sound like for our consciousness to merge with the internet. Sam uses recordings to build his pieces, aiming not to create an objective, musical manifestation of the concept, but using the concept as a starting point and manipulating recordings around this. He enjoys working with open ended topics and allowing them to lead to an experimental practice.
