Sophie Lindsey

I work in a variety of mediums to create interventions or gestures within different contexts. These stem from observations, often forming ironic and humorous interpretations that question the structures and systems in the world around us.

In my recent work I have explored the value of the underused/overlooked brownfield/gap-sites that exist in Barrow- in-Furness; explored walking as a medium and how to document distance, specifically the 100miles of the South Downs Way, in A Walk Measured by a Bottle of Whiskey; created a dialogue with exist artists/artworks; and questioned how artists represent themselves on social media.

Through my practice I use art to infiltrate different structures/environments to challenge/expose different interpretations of our surroundings.
