Art and Activism in the North — What Now!?

Sat 31st August 2019

An Open Space event hosted by UNION and The NewBridge Project
10:30am to 5pm
The NewBridge Project: Gateshead

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us…”

Charles Dickens wrote his opening for “A tale of two cities” at the time of the French Revolution some 160 years ago… but if feels just as apt in today’s world.

In our polarised world, how do creative approaches help to challenge and change power relationships? What can we do individually and collectively to achieve political and social change? And what should our focus be in a complex inter-linked world?

What Now!?

Open Space?
