Curatorial Collective

Wed 24th July 2019

6 – 9pm

The NewBridge Project : Gateshead

All welcome, please book here.

Do you want to make contact with other curators in your area?

Independent curator Jessica Bennett and The NewBridge Project invite you to form a Curatorial Collective for the North East. We’ll begin with a social event to work out what we want the group to be. We’ll then plan a series of events to give curators a programme of support, encouraging development outside of a university campus. Any levels of curatorial experience or interest are welcome.

The first event will be very informal and we’ll provide some refreshments.
Bring along your ideas for what you’d like this group to be for, and have a think about what interests or repulses you in the world of art and curating at the moment. Together we can plan what a programme of support that combines fun with thoughtful, critical conversation looks like in a relaxed, inclusive atmosphere.
Practice Makes Practice is an artist development programme run by artists for artists. Practice makes Practice focuses on developing artistic talent and equipping artists with the necessary skills to manage their practice, bridging the gap between art school, studio practice, the gallery and beyond.
Accessibility: NewBridge Gateshead has full street-level accessibility. This event will take place in the Co-Work space on the ground floor of NewBridge Gateshead. Please contact us prior to visiting if you require additional information regarding access and facilities.
