Hey sleepyheads! You are cordially invited to a special dream session, taking place in the ethereal realm of Zoom and hosted by A+E Collective and The NewBridge Project as part of The Dream Turbine: an online installation which explores the relationship between sustainability and dreaming.
Pass your Sunday afternoon starry-eyed and languid with an artist-led workshop, where we’ll practice collective dream analysis, dream relays, drawing and collage, eco-utopian imaginaries, meditation, deep listening, nap solidarity and rest as resistance. Members of A+E Collective will give a short presentation on dreams and guide you through some oneiric content, with interludes for snoozing, sharing impressions and developing a language and dialogue around dream ecologies. The workshop will end with an informal plenary where everyone is free to contribute thoughts on our central question of: how can attending to dreams help develop sustainability in thought and practice?
Suggestions for participating:
- Why not take part in this workshop from bed? In your pyjamas? With sleep-inducing snacks?
- Bring along your favourite writing and drawing materials, plus any dreams you’ve written down or remember.
- Take a look at our DREAMPAK beforehand, which is full of resources around sustainability and dreams, and gives more information on The Dream Turbine project.
- If you haven’t already, we encourage you to share your dreams and unconscious happenings via The Dream Vault: an open archive of dreams, available for submission and access on The NewBridge website.
[In solidarity with The NewBridge Project values of cooperation, adaptation, environmental and social justice, The Dream Turbine hopes to promote alternative, non-extractive ways of thinking, desiring, memorialising and living through various ongoing crises as individuals and collectives.]
This is a free event and will take place on zoom. Book your free ticket to receive the zoom link for the event via email. Please let us know if you have any accessibility requirements.
