About Teakisi

Historically we started as a blog for African women with the platform receiving over 2 million visits annually. It became clear that we were so much more than a blog and we started developing collaborations for community services. We sit at the intersection of race and gender inequality but we strive for social justice in all areas.

Teakisi is a unique North East based Community Interest Company with a social enterprise element and charitable aims. We were incorporated as a CIC in 2020.

About For Solidarity Socials

Solidarity Socials are informal meet-ups for organisations, projects, initiatives and individuals in the region who are offering support, mutual aid, and an alternative to the extractive and oppressive mainstream economic system.  They are also a great opportunity to introduce the initiative you work for and meet other grassroots organisations working in the region.

You don’t have to be part of an organisation to attend this event, it’s a great networking opportunity for all.

Mapping a Solidarity Economy in the North East

Solidarity Socials are part of For Solidarity, a project initiated between The Newbridge Project and The Solidarity Economy Association, to map grass-roots organisations and projects in the North East that are working as part of a Solidarity Economy.
