NewBridge members and neighbours* are invited to exhibit their artwork for our next gallery exhibition, Form and Display.
Form and Display unfold in two interconnected stages: first, the collective construction of a display structure; and second, the presentation of artworks created by NewBridge members and neighbours. There will be different ways to get involved: helping to make the display structure, exhibiting artwork, and taking part in curating the exhibition.
*This includes studio members, hot-deskers, associates, The Collective Studio and Create/Disrupt members; and anyone who takes part in our regular groups such as Shieldfield Youth Programme and Memory Cafe. Find out how to become a member here.
After the display structure is built, it will be time to fill it with artwork. We’d like to invite all NewBridge members* to display one artwork or small series of artworks. There is no selection process, and this call will support up to 72 artists to exhibit their work in our gallery space.

There will be three slots per day:
11am–1pm
1.30–3.30pm
4–6pm
For each two-hour time slot there is space for up to 8 people to book. Arrive with your work, ready to install in our gallery and co-work space, and be open to working with other artists on how best to present and curate each other’s work.
There may already be other artworks or displays in the gallery that you will need to curate around. In addition to the walls and floor of the gallery, there will be a co-built and co-designed display structure for artworks to sit on, in, or around. The exhibition will also include work made by groups at The NewBridge Project, including Shieldfield Youth Programme, developed with Dwellbeing Shieldfield), Memory Cafe and Coffee Mornings.
You will be supported by NewBridge staff throughout Place It. We will also have basic tools, including nails, tacks, and screws. If your artwork is particularly large or needs equipment – is a video or requires audio for instance – or is complex to install and might require a bit more time, please do get in touch and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

Your artwork and yourselves. We will have tools, fixings and a limited number of plinths and media players. Should your artwork require specific installation methods or Audio Visual equipment then please contact dangoodman@thenewbridgeproject.com and we’ll do our best to accommodate you and your work.
The exhibition will have a preview on Friday 16 October and run from 17 October until 18 December during regular NewBridge opening times.
We are hosting two in-person drop-in open mornings on Tuesday 8 September, 10am–12pm, and in the co-workspace at The NewBridge Project to chat through any specific questions and support you to take part.

We have a small access budget available to support travel, childcare or any access requirements that will support you to take part in Form and Display.
