ciara lenihan is an artist and activist based in newcastle upon tyne. their practice explores decolonisation of the body and the self through performance, bilingual writing and moving image. as an activist they are an active member of ACORN community union, working together with the people of newcastle to improve living conditions for all.
dao (disability arts online): ‘artist immersed in a wide variety of art-forms, whose work continues to defy pigeon-holing crossing visual, performance, literary and digital art forms with ease and uncomforting elegance. An abiding concern within his work is the disconnect between hierarchy and human rights. he is also capable of writing and producing arresting theatre that cuts to the quick.
both ciara and gobscure are part of the newbridge project’s programme committee 19/20.
