In partnership with LUX and Northern Film & Media, The Newbridge Project provided the space for five artists with a moving image practice to attend a one-on-one advice session. These were for artists based in the North East region, no longer in full-time education.
These informal sessions with LUX staff aimed to develop a wide ranging dialogue around the artists practice involving any or all of the following areas:
– Looking at and discussing your work
– Advice on developing your practice and looking at other works that may be interesting in relation to this
– Advice on exhibition possibilities, appropriate organisations and events to approach
– Self-promotion advice
– Funding advice
– Production advice
Sessions lasted for one hour. Thanks for our funders there was no charge for attending one of these sessions. Artist advice sessions are supported by ERDF and Arts Council England through Grants for the Arts.
Benjamin Cook, Director of LUX was also in discussion with artist-filmmaker, Stephen Sutcliffe at Baltic on Thursday 16th January 2014.
