(please register for free here so we know numbers)

Join us as we take forward conversations that were started during Deep Adaptation and Hidden Civil War. Some great ideas and responses came out of these programmes and final Deep Adaptation Springboard event that took place in May.

These have shaped the next steps that we have taken in developing the direction of our programme, and we are excited to welcome the Solidarity Economy Association to The NewBridge Project, to start a process of mapping the different projects, initiatives, cooperatives and people within Newcastle and Gateshead who are already doing things that engage with climate change, environmental and social justice, and the wider Deep Adaptation agenda (think Resilience, Restoration, Relinquishment and Response-ability!).

This mapping will allow us to: recognise and celebrate what is already happening in our region; look at what’s missing; join the dots to create a collaborative and stronger voice, enabling us to better drive forward change and share resources.

It will also be a starting point for us to plan future artistic and community-led activity and action in response to current social and ecological issues, through working closely with people across Newcastle and Gateshead.

During the evening we will be adding to a physical map to begin to look at what’s already happening in the region, so it would be great to bring suggestions of things to add to the map such as places you have worked for or with, places you have visited or admire, or places you simply want to learn more about!

And if you aren’t sure what you want to add and just want to find out more about what’s happening then come along too!

We will be having a lovely free meal provided by the Ugly Duckling as well.

If you have any questions in the lead up to the event then just get in touch with us at r.huggan@thenewbridgeproject.com
