MOTHEROTHER: Live Performance by Conway & Young

Thursday 1 August 2024 2–4pm NewBridge Gallery

A special live performance reading of MILK REPORT by Conway and Young, who will broadcast live from Spike Island in Bristol. Plus discussion and Q+A with the artist duo

Join us at The NewBridge Project for a performance reading of Milk Report – a publication exploring the politics and economics of care through the lens of breastfeeding. The performance includes the whole text and plays with the messiness of care, the leakiness of bodies, ideas of the artificial and the natural, and the difficult, the performed and the improvised in care giving. Originally commissioned for the Holden Gallery’s Interruptions 2021 series.

About Conway & Young

Established in 2006 by Jen Conway and Jessy Young. We take a collaborative approach to commissioned and self-initiated projects and are motivated by art and design’s critical, social, civic and political potential. Our work often serves as an invitation to create communities. We are interested in DIY, inclusive and discursive forms of production and practise. Art, graphic design, research, consultancy and education.
