FILM CLUB Screening: Lindsay Seers

Tue 31st January 2017

Film Screening and Discussion
Nowhere Less Now⁵

What constitutes the artistic practice of Lindsay Seers is not mere storytelling, but a matrix where there is no formal separation between the conceptual investigation of the act of photography, the camera as apparatus, the common desire for film and photography to act as evidence of events, and the complex historical and personal synchronicities of events themselves.

During this screening Seers talked about the method and process of how she makes her episodic works. We were given the opportunity to see Nowhere Less Now⁵ along a selection of new works which were followed by the opportunity to chat to the artist over drinks.

FILM CLUB has been formulated with a consciousness to develop and enrich the cultural platform of moving image and provide emerging and mid career artists with support in this field. We have created opportunities where conversations and workshops with key practitioners may not only give insight into their working methods, concepts and processes but also aid in the professional development of those practicing in the arts.

Thanks to the support of NFM’s funders there was no charge to attend.
