The NewBridge Project Gallery, The Reading Room and NewBridge Books will be open late for Open Thursday, an evening to see art across Newcastle and Gateshead coordinated by Creative Visual Art Network North East.

The NewBridge Project will be open late for Open Thursday, an evening to see art across Newcastle and Gateshead at a time that suits you, coordinated by Creative Visual Art Network North East.

Our gallery will be open for the final few days of Promises from Paradise. The Reading Room will be open late too, where you can borrow incredible books from Left Book Club and Pluto Press. NewBridge Books will also be open late – come browse independent publications and zines, ceramics, jewellery and greeting cards made by local artists, as well as prints and t shirts.

Promises from Paradise

Curated by Beatriz Lobo with new textiles, ceramics, sound and performance by Rebeca Romero and Igor Tavares. The exhibition looks at the role of community healers in the Global South, alongside Western societies’ search for ‘wellbeing’.

The Reading Room

The Reading Room is a new collaborative project opening up local spaces and providing a wealth of educational tools which will be a catalyst for creative thinkers and critical minds in partnership with Pluto Press, Left Book Club, Sustainable Studio (Cardiff) and Left Bank (Leeds).

NewBridge Books offers a selection of diverse, original and hard-to-find national and international contemporary art publications, zines, magazines and gifts. Shop online or come see us in The Shieldfield Centre!
