Philadelphia Assembled: Sanctuary Stewardship Curriculum Workshop

Fri 1st November 2019

The NewBridge Project : Gateshead

Free, all welcome

Philadelphia Assembled (PHLA) is an expansive project that tells a story of radical community building and active resistance. Join us at The NewBridge Project : Gateshead for a short presentation by collaborator and Project Coordinator, Phoebe Bachman, that explains how the project came to fruition with a focus on seeding solidarity and amplifying narratives. Following the presentation, attendees will be invited to participate in a workshop developed as part of the Sanctuary Stewardship Curriculum.

PHLA was initiated by artist Jeanne van Heeswijk alongside the Philadelphia Museum of Art and brought to life by a collaborative team of artists, makers, storytellers, gardeners, healers, activists and Museum staff.

Accessibility: NewBridge Gateshead has full street-level accessibility. This event will take place in the gallery space on the ground floor of NewBridge Gateshead. Please contact us prior to visiting if you require additional information regarding access and facilities.

This event is part of the For Solidarity exhibition and project. For Solidarity is a map that aims to make visible and strengthen all of the organisations, projects, initiatives and individuals in the region who are offering an alternative to the extractive and oppressive mainstream economic system.

The For Solidarity exhibition presents new collaborative artist commissions and a series of events that explore the map and respond to themes of Solidarity and features work by Chris Alton, Midge Ryall, Oliver Perry, Ross H Frew and The Comfrey Project.
