SOCIAL with Nathaniel Whitfield

Wed 4th October 2017

Co-Work Space, Carliol House
5 – 7pm

We welcomed Nathaniel Whitfield to NewBridge. The public had the opportunity to hear more about his practise before starting the Practice Makes Practice – A Social Residency in the new year.

Nathaniel is a performer, writer, facilitator and collaborator currently finishing up a year of the Whitney Museum of American Art’s Independent Study Program. During his time at NewBridge he will continue his exploration of the relationship between knowledge and performance and his approach to both civic engagement and art practice, responding specifically to Newcastle.

Practice makes Practice ~ A Social Residency is a one-month residency at The NewBridge Project. It provides artists with time and space to reflect on their practice through interaction and collective co-existence.

This annual residency forms part of Practice makes Practice, an artist development programme run by artists for artists based at The NewBridge Project. During the residency, artists are invited to input into the programme, instigating events, and talks that directly feed into their own professional development and that of our members.

Accessibility: NewBridge Studios has limited accessibility, this event will take place in the Co-Work space on the first floor of NewBridge Studios. We regret, due to the age of our building and its change of use we do not have a functioning lift. Please contact us prior to visiting if you require additional information regarding access and facilities.
