Join us at The NewBridge Project for Rooted, an exciting exhibition of new work made by Newcastle University’s first-year Fine Art students!
Many first-year students describe their work as deeply rooted in their backgrounds—whether that’s agriculture, religion, city life, or immigration. Others are inspired by drag and nightlife, nature and organic forms, the human body, portraiture, shapes, light, colour, and much more!
United by the same course, the students come from a wide variety of backgrounds, creating a diverse body of work. Rooted promises a vibrant showcase of patterns, sensations, and creative expression through both traditional and contemporary media, featuring photography, sculpture, painting, video, text and installation.
Explore what drew the students to art and what it means to become a practising artist in today’s world.
Our building has lifts to the gallery, accessible and gender-neutral toilets, baby changing and breastfeeding facilities and two accessible parking bays. You can watch a walkthrough of our building and learn more about accessibility here.
