Social Practice Forum July

Tue 30th July 2019

6 – 8pm

The NewBridge Project : Gateshead

Free & open to all | Please book here.

The NewBridge Project’s own Dan Russell will lead a session inspired by surprising research from social science on the values we all hold and how the frames we view the world through can help to reinforce compassionate behaviour. He’ll draw on practical techniques he’s used to get people on the same page during socially-engaged art projects and then attempt to explain some of the ideas behind these approaches.

Social Practice Forum is a regular series of meet-ups for people interested in art projects that work with the public, in whatever form that takes: socially engaged, participatory and community artists and those exploring these ways of working. Open to all people to share their ideas and approaches at all levels of experience, it is part of the national Social Art Network, which also has groups in Manchester, Sheffield, Nottingham, Stoke, London and Brighton.

Accessibility: NewBridge Gateshead has full street-level accessibility. This event will take place in the co-work space on the ground floor of NewBridge Gateshead. Please contact us prior to visiting if you require additional information regarding access and facilities.
