Join us for the launch of TALKER #16 at NewBridge Books with Giles Bailey and Martín La Roche.
The evening will commence with performances by Martín, where he will present the Musée Légitime, a museum inside a hat.
TALKER is an interview zine about performance, by artist Giles Bailey. The new issue is with artist Martín La Roche. Since 2016, TALKER has featured conversations with artists Ian White, Kate Valk, Richard Maxwell, Sue Tompkins, Dora García, Spalding Gray, Kathy Acker, Jo Fong, Paul Maheke, Clifford Owens, Gustav Metzger, Barby Asante, Miranda July and Agus Nur Amal PMTOH. Each issue publishes a long-form interview with an artist who works in an innovative way with live practice.
Copies of TALKER will be on sale throughout the evening and there will be a paid bar.

Born in Santiago Chile (1988), Martín La Roche is a visual artist living in Amsterdam. His works often find their starting points from existing collections of objects and memories, archives as modes of storytelling which he reassembles into installations, performances or publications.
Martín runs an independent publisher and research platform, Good Neighbour, alongside Dongyoung Lee and Valeria Marchesini, which explores books as performative tools. Editions from Good Neighbour are stocked in NewBridge Books.
Giles Bailey works with performance, using texts, video fragments and choreographies to explore how knowledge and meaning are generated through relationships with others.
Since 2016, he has published TALKER, an interview zine about performance.
Giles’ is a senior lecturer in Fine Art at Newcastle University and has worked on various projects throughout the North East of England such as CIRCA Projects, TEA Universe at ArtHouses, and Festival of the Not at Star and Shadow.
