You may recognise Tigist from the Ethiopian Gena event she has organised and hosted at NewBridge. This vibrant celebration featured delicious Ethiopian cuisine and engaging educational activities for the Shieldfield community.
During her residency, Tigist will be researching local pop-up restaurants and businesses, with the goal of establishing her own pop-up restaurant in the future! She will also delve into publishing and printing multilingual children’s books, focusing on one of her unpublished works.
Tigist is interested in connecting with other Ethiopian artists across the UK and is excited to collaborate with existing NewBridge groups, including The Shieldfield Youth Programme. She will also host a series of Ethiopian holiday events at NewBridge, bringing together food, activities, and fun for all the family!
ትግስት ተገኝ ደራሲ፣ሼፍ እና የቀድሞ የኢትዮጵያ መምህር ነች። በ2021 የመጀመሪያ መጽሃፏን በአማርኛ አሳትማለች። በአሁኑ ጊዜ በDwellbeing የሼፍ አስተባባሪ ሆና ትሰራለች በተጨማሪም The Big River Bakery ትሰራለች። ከነዚህ ሚናዎች ጎን ለጎን ትግስት በየሳምንቱ እሁድ በኪይሳይድ ገበያ ትክክለኛ የኢትዮጵያ ምግብ እና ቡና በማቅረብ የራሷን ስራ ትሰራለች።
ትግስት ባለፈው አመት በኒውብሪጅ ካዘጋጀችው እና ስታስተናግደው በነበረው የኢትዮጵያውያን ገና ዝግጅት ልታውቋት ትችላላችሁ። ይህ ደማቅ አከባበር ጣፋጭ የኢትዮጵያ ምግብ እና ለሽልድ ፊልድ ማህበረሰብ አሳታፊ ትምህርታዊ ተግባራትን አሳይቷል።

በምትኖርበት አካባቢ ትግስት ለወደፊቱ የራሷን ሬስቶራንት ለማቋቋም በማቀድ በአካባቢው የሚገኙ ሬስቶራንቶችን እና የንግድ ስራዎችን ጥናት ታደርጋለች። በተለያዩ ቋንቋ ተናጋሪ የሆኑ የህጻናት መጽሃፍትን በማሳተም እና በማተም ላይ ትሰራለች ካልታተሙት ስራዎቿ በአንዱ ላይ ትኩረት አድርጋለች።
ትግስት በዩናይትድ ኪንግደም ከሚገኙ ኢትዮጵያውያን አርቲስቶች ጋር ለመገናኘት ትፈልጋለች እና ከነባር የኒውብሪጅ ቡድኖች ጋር በመተባበር የሽልድ ፊልድ ልጆች ፕሮግራምን ጨምሮ አብሮ ለመስራት ደስተኛ ነች። እሷም በኒውብሪጅ ተከታታይ የኢትዮጵያ በዓላት ዝግጅቶችን ታዘጋጃለች። ምግብን፣ቡናን እና ለሁሉም ቤተሰብ አሳታፊ የሆኑ ዝግጅቶችን ታቀርባለች።
