The NewBridge Project is offering Newcastle University Fine Art graduates (due to graduate in summer 2015) the opportunity to join NewBridge Studios, bridging the gap between art school and professional studio practice.

This is a new opportunity aimed at Newcastle University Fine Art graduates. We are offers 2 to 4 new graduates workspace at NewBridge Studios from June 2015 and the opportunity to become part of a vibrant and supportive artist community.

Due to the high demand for our studios we have to operate a waiting list, this initiative will enable new graduates a studio space straight out of university, bypassing the waiting list. Our studios are subsided to ensure they remain accessible to all, priced at £16.25 per week regardless of size.

The NewBridge Project has always been committed to supporting recent graduates and early career artists; set up 5 years ago by two Newcastle University Fine Art graduates to create affordable workspace, develop artistic talent, provide professional development and exhibition opportunities and create a supportive network of visual artists.

About NewBridge Studios:

Currently situated in a 29,000sqft former office block in Newcastle city centre, NewBridge Studios promotes exchange and support in an engaged and discursive community of over 80 artists over 5 floors. The shared workspace is a critical and collaborative environment that allows artists to discuss and develop new ideas and projects. NewBridge Studios offers space to artists at any stage of their career, working primarily within the field of visual art, with a desire to be part of a diverse and critically engaged community of creative practitioners. NewBridge Studios continues to develop in response to the needs and interests of its members providing valuable resources and support to encourage an experimental and critical approach to contemporary art practice.

Studio members will benefit from:

•Low-cost and spacious 24 hour access studio space in the city centre
•A new support network from which to cultivate further opportunities and develop work. We are committed to NewBridge Studios remaining a discursive and productive working environment
•The opportunity to be a part of an exciting and vibrant community of visual artists
•The opportunity to join the NewBridge programme committee
•Access to professional development opportunities and mentoring support
•The range of facilities at The NewBridge Project: among others, our bookable project spaces The Annex and PH Space, darkroom, social spaces and bookshop (free to NewBridge Studio members)
•Free Wifi
