To have or have not
Are you an artist who has children? NewBridge member Andrea Allan is looking for expressions of interest to take part in an event.
‘To have or have not’ looks at the reality of becoming a parent whilst maintaining and nurturing your artistic practice. Inviting artists to share their personal experiences of balancing a career on the one hand and a child on the other, this evening of talks seeks to inspire and promote a healthy view of parenthood and a successful career.
The aim of the talks is to open up a dialogue between artists about the reality of parenthood, and to dispel the age-old myth that in order to succeed in the arts (especially as a woman) you need chose between practice or family. We’re looking for people to present a 20 minute talk describing both their practice and how they balance parenthood. At the end of the talks there will be round table discussions.
