Call out: Workforce Publication

Call out: Workforce Publication
Deadline: Monday 4 March, 5pm

Upcoming exhibition Workforce is looking for contributions for a publication about modern labour, the value of labour and its impact on our identities. This publication will be displayed at the exhibition and will be available for purchase. All contributors will receive a copy of the publication.

All the proceeds will go to the Industrial Workers of the World, an organisation that is: “fighting for better conditions today and economic democracy tomorrow”. They do this “by training… members in powerful organising methods, direct-action and direct-democracy”. They helped organise the recent couriers strike in Newcastle.

We are looking to bring together existing writing or works that you are looking for an outlet for. We can offer a small publication fee for £20.

This could include but is not limited to: a short essay; creative writing; interview or another form of writing exploring labour. Please send pieces for consideration (of up to 1500 words), alongside any images to the Workforce curator Lucas Ferguson-Sharp at Lucasgfs2@gmail.com. Please contact Lucas with any questions.

Workforce will open at The NewBridge Project : Gateshead on Friday 15 March.
