We are saying a fond farewell to our amazing Youth Worker, Kate Jeffries, who is leaving to start an exciting new role with Mortal Fools.

We are saying a fond farewell to our amazing Youth Worker, Kate Jeffries, who is leaving to start an exciting new role with Mortal Fools.
Kate joined NewBridge in April 2021 to develop and run the Shieldfield Youth Programme. Over the past 18 months she has worked collaboratively with NewBridge, Dwellbeing and our Youth Working Group to create and shape a programme that truly reflects the ideas, passions and needs of young people in Shieldfield. Youth work was totally new to NewBridge and Dwellbeing, and we have learned so much from Kate’s expertise and willingness to try things out. Kate has brought imagination, expert knowledge and lots of fun to Shieldfield.
We wish Kate lots of luck in her new role as a full time Projects Coordinator and Practitioner at Mortal Fools. Mortal Fools runs youth theatre and creative intervention projects with young people across Northumberland to increase arts opportunity and personal wellbeing. We will miss her lots and wish her all the best in her new role!

“My time at the youth programme has been amazing and I was lucky enough to meet and work with a great group of young people! Thank you to the Shieldfield community for being so welcoming, it’s been a pleasure to become part of it. I have met friends for life at NewBridge and Dwellbeing and learnt so much, I can’t wait to see what everyone does next!”
We will be recruiting for a new 3-day a week Youth Worker in the next few weeks – so keep your eyes on our news page for details of this!
