Introducing: Izzy and Elaine

Posted: 29 January 2021

Our team is growing! This month we welcomed two new staff members to the team. As we can’t meet face to face, here’s a little introduction to them.

We are incredibly pleased to be joined at The NewBridge Project by Izzy Finch and Elaine Robertson. They will be working as Project Manager and Community Coordinator, and you can find out a little more about them below…

Izzy Finch

Izzy is our new Project Manager, who will be working on the development and delivery of a new strand of artist development, which will be aimed at people who are currently underrepresented in the arts sector. Izzy works with diverse communities to engage people in artistic, creative experiences. As someone whose path to becoming an arts worker was defined by quality arts participation and experiences rather than formal training, she is committed to promoting and facilitating this right for artists from all backgrounds and cultural perspectives. Her practice is rooted in values of community, equality, justice and creating a space for seldom seen or seldom heard people. Izzy is a freelance project musician and also works at The Customs House as Learning and Participation Officer.

Elaine Robertson

Elaine is our new Community Coordinator, who’s role will involve building and nurturing relationships with local community groups and engaging local residents in NewBridge’s work and space. She will be listening and learning from NewBridge’s neighbours, gathering feedback on how our space and programme can be developed in response to local needs. Elaine is also a figurative artist, a stand-up comedian, and the Co-Founder and Co-Director of Conny Art Festival in Consett, County Durham.
