Please send all applications to
the following applications@thenewbridgeproject.com.Within your application please feel free to outline any particular support or any access needs that might be required. If you have any questions about this opportunity, please get in touch by contacting Niomi Fairweather.

Selection Criteria

Applications will be assessed and selected by members of NewBridge’s Programme Committee – Jenny Mc Namara (artist), Jessica Bennett (curator), Lydia Bailey (artist) and Matt Pickering (artist) and Niomi Fairweather (Programme Director, The NewBridge Project). The exhibition team will vote as individuals on each application, but this is the criteria we will use:

  • Abstract work- we are looking for abstract work, without an explicit narrative, so it’s more responsive.
  • Size of work – about no larger than roughly 1x1m (so that we have room to display all the artworks in the exhibition).
  • Applications that are clear, easy to understand and details of artworks included
  • We will consider all applicants in a consistent and objective manner

Budget

There will be a fee of £700.00 to support your involvement (this will cover artists fee, materials and cost of shipping work)

Taking part in the project is flexible, but we suggest that the budget covers 3 days of making and 2 scheduled meetings with a member of the exhibition team. Don’t worry, these don’t have to be in-depth meetings, it’s simply an opportunity to check in and establish if any extra support is needed. This can be done in person, over the telephone or via Zoom. Please note that through this opportunity there will be 5 artists selected.

Due to Covid-19 it may not possible to host an exhibition preview at The NewBridge Project gallery space. However, we will consider what is possible based on guidelines closer to the time and will keep selected artists updated.
