Fair Pay Guide for Artists and Freelancers 2025

These rates have been adapted from Artist Union England guidelines, adopting the hourly rate advised in 2025 for artists with 5+ years experience.

We have decided not to adopt a graded scale of fees (where the starting point is graduating from higher education and goes up by years of experience). This is to acknowledge the important contribution that artists without formal education make at NewBridge. We value other forms of experience and knowledge equally to higher education. We also recognise that working with emerging artists does not translate straightforwardly onto a linear timeline, where more years equals more experience or vice versa.

In January 2025 we reviewed the policy and will be adopt increased fees from October 2025, in line with new guidance published by Artist Union England.

This guidance aims to offer a clear framework for renumerating and supporting artists fairly.

It will be reviewed annually.
