Roundtable discussion with artists and curator
12 – 1.30pm
The NewBridge Project : Gateshead
Our House of Common Weeds
at The NewBridge Project is the second showing of the work produced last year for an exhibition at Res. in London. The work on show is the result of an intensive period of collaborative research and conversations that took place from February 2016 to November 2017 between the curator, the artists involved, members of the public and specific communities.
For the first time since November 2017 the artists and curator will meet to discuss and unpack the ideas, processes and work generated during the project. The discussion will focus on the themes of the exhibition – disenfranchised knowledge, needs and desires that have the potential to shape a different future from the one that is currently unfurling – as well as reflecting on the process of production and and how the artists are continuing to address these concerns in their work.
