We welcomed The Collective Studio to NewBridge. It was a great opportunity to meet our new members who will be undertaking this one-year graduate development programme starting in September.
About the Collective Studio
The Collective Studio is a one-year Graduate Development Programme from September 2017 – September 2018 in partnership with Newcastle University.
The Collective Studio will support the development of creative talent in the North East region and equip practitioners with the necessary skills to manage their creative practice, bridging the gap between University, studio-based practice, the gallery and the workplace.
The Collective Studio will provide early-career artists and creatives with the chance to be part of a vibrant and supportive community, shape their own programme of training and development events and opportunities for exhibiting and showcasing their work.
The Collective Studio will follow an educational philosophy that advocates learner-chosen activities as a primary means for learning, preparing individuals for an uncertain and rapidly changing future.
The Collective Studio progamme is open to circa. 15-20 creative graduates per year. The programme is open to BA and Masters level graduates who graduated in 2017 from any UK based University in any arts-based or related, creative course. A particular focus has been given to graduates from Newcastle University and the North East region but the programme is open to all.
This event is programmed for The Collective Studio as part of Practice Makes Practice, an artist development programme run by artists for artists. Practice makes Practice focuses on developing artistic talent and equipping artists with the necessary skills to manage their practice, bridging the gap between art school, studio practice, the gallery and beyond.
Accessibility: NewBridge Studios has limited accessibility, this event will take place in the Co-Work space on the first floor of NewBridge Studios. We regret, due to the age of our building and its change of use we do not have a functioning lift.
