Arnaud Moinet is an artist whose practice continues to explore the questions about representation and its possibilities. Considering this, he’s using a wide range of mediums as photography or installation or even sculpture, video and sound. Fascinated by the evolution of medias and nourished often by the idea of ‘re-make’, he is constantly re-experimenting with forms and dialectics of the past acknowledging and re-evaluating moments in Art history without forgetting to ‘re-locate’ these experiments in a contemporary context. Humoristic most of the time, his interventions question the position of the artist as much as the authenticity of his gesture/practice. He is considering an artist less as creator than as a transmitter allowing contingency between history of forms and contemporary imagery.
