Much of my practice centres on forms of collaborative production, manifesting as performances, videos, and archive works. In previous projects, ‘collaborative production’ has been about directing and giving voice to others’ stories, views, and in particular, sense of identity. For example, in If This Is My Fate, I cast interviewed suicide survivors and cast them as actors of their own personal narrative, allowing them to dictate the flow and content of their testimony. In my performance lectures, audience members contribute much of the content on a given theme, and their ad-hoc physical participation in the work results in their temporary active collaboration in the production of the piece.
