I am currently working on a series of ‘digital organisms,’ which effectively emerge, evolve and die within a given time frame. The series explores concerns about unknown changes through steady advancements in Artificial Intelligence. How will technology affect our understanding of future environments, given our limited understanding of current environments?

I am a cross-disciplinary artist working with sound, film and new media. Inspired by Deep Time and Artificial Intelligence, my work and research examines fundamental existentialist questions which manifest in contemporary technological society. Investigating Richard Feynman’s seminal notion of ‘Understanding by Building,’ I am currently working on a series of ‘digital organisms,’ which effectively emerge, evolve and die within a given time frame. The series explores concerns about unknown changes through steady advancements in Artificial Intelligence. How will technology affect our understanding of future environments, given our limited understanding of current environments? Can we learn more about who we are and our surroundings by taking these things apart and reconstructing them using technology and morphological computation? These are questions I seek to pose in my artistic practice using More Time than Life as a starting point, being not only its creator but its active observer.
